Amenities

Our lakefront home was remodeled in fall 2021 and features a covered waterfront deck with ample seating. You are welcome to beach your boat in our semi-private cove, which is a no-wake zone so it is perfect for swimming. Our unit is fully furnished, includes all linens and kitchen necessities, and has reverse osmosis filtered water on tap. We provide Dish Network television service and a DVD player, as well as a stereo system and WiFi.

Sam’s Beachcomber Resort (which we are located within) also offers some amenities that you are welcome to utilize during your stay with us. You are welcome to use the pool, hot tub, launch ramp, and boat slips (arrange for boat slip use with Sam’s Beachcomber office for a small fee). They also host numerous activities (mainly during the winter months) which you are welcome to participate in.

NOTES

Please note that since we have varying lengths of stays, we provide the consumable products you’ll need to get started, but they may not last through the duration of your stay. That means that we’ll make sure you have a roll of paper towels, full rolls of toilet paper, dish soap and sponge, several trash bags for each waste basket, and hand soap. If you use up what is provided, we are located very close to town and it will be easy to grab whatever you may need. Unfortunately we are not able to provide stock for the full duration of longer stays, because people tend to take whatever we leave out.

Also please note that we do NOT provide any beach or pool towels. Please do not use our white bath towels for the pool, beach or boat. If you will be enjoying the water, please remember to bring some beach towels from home.

The resort has set new regulations restricting us to a total of 6 people per unit including children. We are happy to contact the owner next door to arrange for a 2 unit rental if you have a larger party.

PETS

We are dog lovers, and you are welcome to bring your dog along when you stay with us. We do charge a pet fee per stay. We also ask that you keep your dog off the furniture. The smaller unit has carpet in the bedrooms, so you’ll see in the rental agreement that if our cleaning crew detects there has been a potty accident in there, you’ll have to cover the cost of professional treatment and cleaning. So far we’ve never had to do this.

Per the resort’s rules (and common courtesy), all dogs must be kept on a leash when outside, must be kept from being a barking nuisance or displaying aggressive behavior, and must be picked up after.

The resort we are located within has placed some recent restrictions on dogs, so please note the following details prior to reserving your stay:
– The resort office is requiring proof of rabies vaccine and licensing for each dog
– They have now placed breed restrictions on which dogs can be brought into the resort (and therefore our rental). They are not allowing any Pit Bulls, Chows, Dobermans, Rottweilers, or Wold-hybrid dogs. They are also not allowing any dogs who are mixed with those breeds, and the official discretion is up to the resort staff.

Apparently these restrictions are due to insurance coverage. Regardless, I will be honest in telling you we’re not happy about this, and we strongly disagree with breed restrictions. But, we have no choice but to follow their rules, and there doesn’t seem to be anything we can do about it.
