Activities

Lake Havasu has so much to offer in terms of activities! We’ve included a bit of a guide for some of our favorite places. You’ll see that they’re broken down based on their proximity to the water.

IN THE WATER
  • The London Bridge Channel – this is the hangout if you want to see and be seen. People moore/beach their boats all up and down the channel.
  • Boat and PWC rentals
  • Excellent water skiing, wakeboarding, etc. – there is almost always smooth water somewhere on the lake!
  • Jet boat tours to Topak Gorge
  • Dreamcatcher Ferry from London Bridge to Havasu Landing (where the casino is)
  • Great Fishing
  • Parasailing
  • Paddle Boarding
  • Kayaking
  • Copper Canyon & Steamboat – Coves on the lake known for people gathering for one big party. In Copper Canyon there is also cliff diving!
  • Take your boat or PWC up the river to Pirates Cove or Topack for lunch.
  • If you have a PWC or jet boat, go all the way up to Laughlin!
  • The Sandbar (up the river on the way to Topack or Pirates Cove). Beach your boat and relax for a while. This area gets extremely crowded for busy weekends. This is where my husband proposed, so it holds a special place in my heart.
  • NOTE: Recently part of the river mouth was dredged to make access easier. Access to Park Moabi is relatively easy, although we do advise you to watch out for shallow water. We do not recommend attempting to travel to Laughlin unless you have a boat or PWC that takes very little water. The river is very shallow and rocky near Needles.
ON THE WATER
IN THE LONDON BRIDGE CHANNEL
the rest of the lake
  • Sandpoint Marina – CLOSED We’re so sad they closed. This was one of our favorite spots.
  • Havasu Landing – Good food, GREAT Bloody Mary’s, and A CASINO!  They just built an entirely new building.
  • Havasu Springs – The Outer Harbor has a great bar. Try the Attitude Adjustment! The Inner Harbor has a restaurant and bar.
ON THE RIVER
  • Pirate’s Cove – fun atmosphere. Sometimes they have a DJ outside. Lots of outdoor seating with misters.
  • Topack – If you have been around the river for awhile you may remember Topack. The old place was completely leveled, and what’s there now is brand new. There’s even a pool just outside the restaurant.
  • Topack and Pirate’s Cove are located almost directly across the river from one another

FUN FACTS
  • The London Bridge was purchased for $2.5 million from the City of London when the bridge was replaced in 1968. It was disassembled, and the marked stones were shipped to Lake Havasu City and reassembled for another $7 million. It opened in October 1971.
  • Lake Havasu is 45 miles long and is full of natural desert beauty. It sits behind Parker Dam on the Colorado River, on the border between California and Arizona.
