FAQ

Can I have my mail forwarded to the rental?

Yes. For longer rentals, you can arrange this through the resort office. I believe they charge a small fee for a mailbox key copy.

Can I bring my dog?

We are dog lovers, and you are welcome to bring your dog along when you stay with us. We do charge a pet fee per stay. We also ask that you keep your dog off the furniture. The smaller unit has carpet in the bedrooms, so you’ll see in the rental agreement that if our cleaning crew detects there has been a potty accident in there, you’ll have to cover the cost of professional treatment and cleaning. So far we’ve never had to do this.

Per the resort’s rules (and common courtesy), all dogs must be kept on a leash when outside, must be kept from being a barking nuisance or displaying aggressive behavior, and must be picked up after.

The resort we are located within has placed some recent restrictions on dogs, so please note the following details prior to reserving your stay:
– The resort office is requiring proof of rabies vaccine and licensing for each dog
– They have now placed breed restrictions on which dogs can be brought into the resort (and therefore our rental). They are not allowing any Pit Bulls, Chows, Dobermans, Rottweilers, or Wold-hybrid dogs. They are also not allowing any dogs who are mixed with those breeds, and the official discretion is up to the resort staff.

Apparently these restrictions are due to insurance coverage. Regardless, I will be honest in telling you we’re not happy about this, and we strongly disagree with breed restrictions. But, we have no choice but to follow their rules, and there doesn’t seem to be anything we can do about it. Of course, if your animal is a registered service animal, exceptions can be made.

What hours are the launch ramp open?

The launch ramp is open 24 hours a day. However, it may be limited to certain hours or closed if management of resort sees fit.

What are the details about renting a boat slip?

Boat slips can be reserved on a first-come first-served basis with the resort office upon arrival.

To use the boat slips you must give the office copies of current registration and insurance. Only one slip is available. If you leave town for more than 24 hours you must remove your boat from the slip and notify the office. They cannot accommodate boats longer than 26′ in length (that’s what the rules say. We have seen longer boats in the slips, but we cannot promise they will allow it). There is a designated area for PWC’s – they are not allowed to occupy a normal boat slip.

Any tenant who has occupied a boat slip for 14 days out of 30 days prior to Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and/or Labor Day will be required to remove their boat for these holiday weekends.
Boat slip occupancy must be renewed every 2 weeks.
If there is space open, you can also beach your boat in the semi-private cove directly in front of the unit.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 90 days notice for any cancellations. If a cancellation is made less than 90 days from the 1st day of your reservation, you will lose your deposit. We hope you understand that we are a family trying to cover our expenses, and if your reservation is on the books and you cancel, we have most likely turned away other renters for those dates and may not be able to replace the reservation. That would mean we won’t have enough money to pay our own expenses that month. As much as we wish this were a money making endeavor, we are really just squeaking by.

Can I bring my cat?

For some reason we’ve had back luck when allowing people to bring cats. The fur gets everywhere, and you can’t exactly ask a cat to stay off the furniture, because they do what they want. In general, we prefer not to allow cats. However, there’s always the chance you can talk us into it.

Are there any other rules or regulations I should be aware of?

Yes! Please click HERE to see the resort’s full Rules & Regulations.
